Vic Barlow will attempt to break Mach 2.0, flying his 54mm, minimum diameter, carbon fiber, Performance Rocketry Mongoose named Rikki-Tik on a Kosdon by Aerotech (KBA) L-2300G. This motor has a total impulse of 2,756 Newton seconds over a 1.3 second burn time. Total launch weight should be about 139 ounces or 8.69 pounds. Flight profile will be drogue-less at apogee, main chute at 2,000 feet. RockSim suggests an expected altitude of 17,281 feet at 2,362 feet/second or 1,610 miles/hour, which is Mach 2.13 at 50 degrees F.

Team R & r Rocketry, Randy and Richie Milliken, will fly their 8X upscale of the Extes Alpha on a Loki L1400. Expected Altitude will be 2400’.

Rocket name: Hope-N-Pray

Rocketeer: Tim Dixon

A customized LOC-Precison Bruiser EXP built for a future Level 3 attempt. This 7.5" diameter, 9.5 foot tall rocket has a split fin design, dual deploy with redundant altimeters, tracking and provisions for a camera. This will be its maiden/test flight on an L1482 with an estimated launch weight of 54 pounds and an altitude of 3,200 feet.

You might want to hide the kid's eyes, because on this maiden flight, this rocket will fly "naked."

Rocket name: Astro Traveler

Flyer: Tim Brant

The Astro Traveler was born out of an intense fascination with space travel and a nostalgic soft spot for Space Lego sets.

This will be the maiden flight with the goal being a graceful flight and smooth recovery. Legonauts all still in their seats at recovery is a bonus.

Specs: 34in long. 56mm dia. 24mm motor mount. Baffled ejection system. Total weight at launch 12.87oz.

Rocket Names:

5.5” Astron Sprite
7.5” Mosquito

Flyer: Joe Isca

Joe will be flying his Astron Sprite on a J230 or a J415

He will fly his Mosquito on a K555 skidmark and airstart 2 H220 blue Thunder motors.

Public Enemy Aerospace (Gus Piepenburg) proudly announces its featured project for Thunderstruck 2010!

I am going to fly my scratchbuilt Hawk Mtn. Super Beast a 1 1/2 upscale of the Hawk Beast kit rocket on two thundering CTI N motors.

On Saturday I'll use an N 4100 Red to push this carbon/fiberglass 73lb rocket to almost 17,000k. A special dedication will be read before the flight in honor of my uncle who passed away recently. This is called ''warming up the equipment''.

On Sunday, hold on folks the first N 10,000 Vmax flown in a commercial rocket will finally happen! Projected to only fly to 9,000ft. It will be 10,347 NS unleashed for 1.03 seconds! Zero to Mach 1 will happen in 1.3 seconds...Odds are a few car alarms will trigger in the spectator area, a porta let will tip over, and someone in nearby Lafayette In. will wonder ''was that an earthquake''.

I would like to thank my family for all their support, D&D Aerospace for the ''advice'',Justin Farrand for the awesome fins, CTI for the ''thunder and fire'', and to everyone in my life who ever told me ''That cant be done''.

Here is a picture of the finished rocket and some ''local helpers'' helping me prepare for this great weekend at THUNDERSTRUCK 2010! Hope to see you there....
